Ballet Pointe Shoe Wool Padding, 1 Oz. - Hot Sale

This wool is lofty, soft and absorbent. It stays bouncy and comfortable through many days of hard usage. Rather than packing down into a hard clump like some wool, the nature of the wool from the Suffolk Sheep, is short and springy. Even when feet get sweaty, the wool absorbs the moisture and does not felt or mash down.We raise our sheep on grass, grains, and sunshine. They are sheared once a year. My friends and I wash, pick and card the wool ourselves. I also use it for sculpting/needle felting.“Lambs’ Wool is a great place to start for pointe shoe padding. Though it’s considered antiquated by some teachers, I consider lamb’s wool to be the perfect padding because it can be shaped and molded to each individual dancer’s foot. It gets in all the nooks and crannies that pre-formed pads don’t, and is thin enough to still be able to feel the floor and the shoe. It breathes more than gel or silicone, meaning that your shoes don’t get as stinky as fast, protecting the shoe from accelerated wear due to the extra moisture.” ~ Lauren Warnecke: Dance instructor/choreographer
