The group has made history of a different sort, engaging in a years-long legal battle to register its name. U.S. patent officials initially rejected the moniker because of its offensive connotation, but the band, which vigorously supports a number of civil rights and Asian-American causes, has brought the matter all the way to the Supreme Court, which has yet to issue a ruling.
