LOS ANGELES — Dick Van Dyke will appear in Disney’s upcoming sequel to “Mary Poppins.”. Van Dyke played chimney sweep Bert in the 1964 original as well as the elderly banker, Mr. Dawes. He tells Entertainment Tonight that in “Mary Poppins Returns,” he’ll play Mr. Dawes’ son. The 91-year-old comedy legend says he’ll be going to London in the spring to shoot his part, which he calls “a little song-and-dance number.”. He tells The Hollywood Reporter that the movie will be set 20 years after the original.

A couple of dancing Warriors fans found themselves featured Tuesday night, Most impressive was a woman in a Warriors sweater jamming at halfcourt and then joining the Warriors cheerleaders in a performance, CSN Bay Area’s Ahmad Fareed mentioned that the woman had been seen dancing in the stands in the past, “She got her moment on the court with the Warriors dance team,” Fareed said, Related ArticlesWarriors shifting plans for Andrew Bogut’s returnDraymond Green on DeMarcus Cousins: lace bridal flats teal flowers adornment over white lace, wedding flats, ballet style slipper, lace, teal peacock blue flowers, r “No one can stop him”How Warriors’ Klay Thompson brought out the worst in Russell WestbrookThree big lessons from the Warriors’ wins over Houston, Oklahoma CityWarriors’ DeMarcus Cousins suffers sore right ankle vs, Oklahoma CityThe other dazzling dancer was a man in a spectacular holiday suit, He had previusly been caught on camera dancing on the court before Stephen Curry joined him, Those fans had plenty of reason to boogie during the Warriors’ 104-74 domination of the Jazz, Report an errorPolicies and StandardsContact UsTags:Sports BuzzDaniel ManoDaniel Mano is a content creator for the Mercury News and East Bay Times, focusing on buzz-worthy and offbeat sports news, He is a graduate of San Jose State's journalism program with a magazine concentration.Subscribe Today! All Access Digital offer for just 99 cents!blog comments powered by DisqusGet Morning Report and other email newsletters..

A once and future Stray Cat, a legendary a cappella group and a nearly nekkid cabaret act top our list of cool stuff to do in the Bay Area. 1 Brian Setzer Orchestra: Setzer made headlines recently when he all but guaranteed that the Stray Cats would reunite, presumably in the fairly near future, which is good news indeed. I always thought the band was unfairly pigeonholed as a disposable rockabilly novelty act. Yes, they were retro, but they delivered some terrific music in the late 1970s and early 1980s, and Setzer absolutely killed it as a frontman, with his fierce, adroit guitar licks and passionate vocals. His talents are still first-rate, and his Orchestra is a crack 19-piece band that puts a charge into its annual Christmas show, which can be counted on to deliver some Stray Cats cuts. The show returns to the Bay Area Dec. 24 for a show at the Warfield.

Details: 8 p.m.; $49.50-$69.50; lace bridal flats teal flowers adornment over white lace, wedding flats, ballet style slipper, lace, teal peacock blue flowers, r www.axs.com, 2: SoVoSo: The exceedingly accomplished Bay Area a cappella vocal group stands out not just for its rich, mesmerizing harmonies but also the breadth of its catalog, touching on soul, gospel, folk and other genres with equal conviction, The group, just off its performances with Tandy Beal’s “Nutz RE-Mixed” “Nutcracker”-inspired show, brings its annual Holiday Seasonings show back to Berkeley’s Freight & Salvage Dec, 22, Details: 8 p.m.; $18-$20; 510-644-2020, thefreight.org..

3 Kabir Singh: The comedian was born in Portland, Oregon, and lived for a time with his family in India, and as the story goes, he was teased by his peers in both countries for being either too American or too Indian. But he clearly has a loyal following in Northern California, where he performs frequently and has drawn attention at local stand-up competitions. He’s back in the Bay Area this week for a trio of shows at San Jose Improv. Details: 8 p.m. Dec. 22, 7:30 and 9:45 p.m. Dec. 23; $20; sanjose.improv.com.

4 Cracker and Camper van Beethoven: David Lowery is the frontman and guiding force behind both of these bands that have strong connections to Northern California, Camper van Beethoven won fans for its ska-punk-alt-country mix and for such songs as “Take the Skinheads Bowling.” Cracker has a more straight-ahead alt-rock sound and is probably lace bridal flats teal flowers adornment over white lace, wedding flats, ballet style slipper, lace, teal peacock blue flowers, r best-known for the modern-rock hit “Low.” As he often does, Lowery is featuring both bands in one concert, this time at the Independent in San Francisco on Dec, 27..

Details: 8 p.m.; $28; apeconcerts.com. 5 The Skivvies: This New York act is headed by Lauren Molina and Nick Cearley, and yes, they are known for performing in their underwear. But the real reason they are a hit on the Big Apple cabaret circuit is their gleefully deranged deconstructions of Broadway and American Songbook standards and holiday chestnuts. They’re out on the West Coast this week for three shows at The Strand theater in San Francisco. Details: Presented by American Conservatory Theater; 7 p.m. Dec. 22, 7 and 10 p.m. Dec. 23; $25-$75; www.act-sf.org.

6 Symphony Silicon Valley “Nutcracker”: There are still several performances left of the star-studded collaboration between the San Jose orchestra and some A-list Russian dancers, including Bolshoi Ballet star Andrei Bolotin and Mariinsky Ballet principal Oksana Bondareva, with choreography by Michael Bessmertnov, Details: 7 p.m, lace bridal flats teal flowers adornment over white lace, wedding flats, ballet style slipper, lace, teal peacock blue flowers, r Dec, 21-22, 2:30 and 7 p.m, Dec, 23, 2:30 p.m, Dec, 24; San Jose Center for the Performing Arts; $38-$80; www.symphonysiliconvalley.org, 7 Irish Christmas: The touring show by Kerry Irish Productions featuring spirited performances of traditional Irish music and dance has been making its way around the Bay Area for the past few weeks, But you still have a last shot at catching the show, Dec, 22 at Livermore’s Bankhead Theater..
